Day 7: Write about the lessons you’ve learned

We visited Joy Autism Center today. The guy holding the painting is Aman, he gave us a really interesting tour of the place. The painting is done by a former student of the center called Deborah, she’s had exhibitions and showings. Their website: https://nia.org.et/

I mean you tried to. But it wasn’t in your nature. You were alone yet could never admit you were lonely. The only way you ever talked about your pains to people was by turning it into jokes. You never wanted people to feel pity for you. Or maybe it was that you could never trust people fully. Or maybe it was that you could never see yourself as someone who deserved anything.

I remember I had annoyed my Dad once when I was a kid and he had angrily shouted at me and called me useless. It probably was just basic parenting at the time and I don’t resent my dad for saying any of that. Truly. I have the best dad anybody could ask for. Loving. Supportive. and most importantly inspiring. I just mentioned it because those words always rang in my head. I have always felt less than or even non-existent. It has manifested so much that I am here writing. Possibly silent screaming that I exist. That this isn’t just a floating ghost. That SURAFEL was at some point in time here. And he loved. And he lived.

So I just realized there’s a lot more I want to say so I’ll keep writing and sharing what I feel like I will be sharing. So it’s going to be a bit of a spam. So just prewarning you.

I think my general idea and sense for confidence doesn’t come from the simple idea that I think I’m good enough. I think it comes from being careless. And also from living absurdly. To think that there is no measure that could possibly matter when we are a mere fluke and luck of creation. The only thing that makes sense is hence is to try to live your very short life, as fully as you can.
