If Iran hadn't responded, they would have said Iran is all talk, no action. Now that Iran has responded, their argument is, "Why didn't Iran do this for the South," knowing well that most of these people do not even care about the South, and supported the Lebanese president in his positions when he surrendered it to the enemy. Such statements simply aim to sow discord.
When Iran set the condition that all wars in the region must end for its negotiations to start, and emphasized Lebanon several times, it clearly set a boundary and tied its own security to that of its allies. This boundary was crossed by the enemy when it continued its war on the South and Gaza, but also when the enemy imposed a blockade on Iran and breached the ceasefire several times. In response to breaches of its own territories, Iran's responses were calculated and always threw the ball back into the enemy's court, who attempted to keep matters below a certain threshold. Iran's response today to the "israeli" aggression against Dahyeh is arguably more serious than its responses to the aggressions against its own sovereign territories, ships, and interests. Iran today is at risk of the war returning, and while it could have returned from the enemy attacking Iran, it could return because Iran chose to hold its promise and stand by its allies. Of course, there is a common interest, but that does not undermine the stance Iran has taken, especially when the very president of Lebanon surrendered his country and its South to the enemy.

(Lebanese Hezbollah mujahid martyred in the Arsal Mountains, Lebanon in clashes with Takfiri militants - 20 July 2017)

Whenever he received his salary, he would visit the shop in his neighbourhood and ask the shopkeeper for the list of people who couldn't afford to pay for their groceries, and he would pay off their debts.
The next time he went to do it, the shopkeeper asked him, "Don't you have any plans for the future? Why don't you save up your money to buy a house?"
He looked the shopkeeper in the eye and replied, a smile playing on his lips, "That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm buying myself a house in Paradise."

Response of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, to the pledge of allegiance sent by the faithful and courageous fighters of Hezbollah in proud Lebanon

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful "O you who have believed, fight those disbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you firmness." (At-Tawbah: 123)

To His Eminence Hujjat Al-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Naim Qassem (may his honor endure), the respected Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and to all Hezbollah's leaders and fighters who sacrifice their lives with patience and steadfastness in resistance: Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you all.

– My brothers and sons, your letter—written by the faithful and courageous fighters of the proud Hezbollah—bearing the meanings of steadfastness and perseverance in raising the Word of Allah, faith in the promise of the Noble Qur'an, the noble objectives that bequeath honor, and commitment to the path of Imam Khomeini and the martyred Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah be pleased with them both), is deeply appreciated and held in the highest esteem.

Today, as the peoples of the world have grown weary of the oppression and injustice of the U.S. administration and the crimes of the Zionists, who spread corruption across the land and destroy crops and lives, there remains no path for the free except jihad and resistance. Steadfastness on this path is sufficient to grant the Mujahideen fighting for the truth the promised Divine victory: "And it was incumbent upon Us to grant victory to the believers." (Ar-Rum: 47)

Today, Hezbollah in Lebanon, as the vanguard of the resistance factions, stands as a solid rock against the brutal aggression of the Zionist entity and its supporters. This steadfastness has become an inspiring message to the free peoples of the world in their journey toward liberation from the oppression of global arrogance and its followers. Undoubtedly, a great part of this remarkable achievement is owed to the patience, nobility, sacrifices, and unity of the Lebanese people, especially the people of the South.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the path laid down by the great Leader and Martyr of the Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei (may Allah be pleased with him), has made the defense of these oppressed yet capable fighters a permanent strategic policy. It has also made the preservation of Lebanon's sovereignty and the complete, unconditional end of the Zionist entity's aggression the foremost condition in the Memorandum of Understanding to end the war imposed by the aggressor United States.

May the prayers and mercy of Almighty Allah be upon the martyrs and the wounded, their steadfast families, and those who emigrated for the sake of Allah, making the hardship of trials easier upon themselves.

Peace be upon the heavenly soul of the Master of Hezbollah's Martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, upon all the former leaders of the resistance, and upon his fellow martyrs (may Allah bless them all), who transformed the seedling of the Islamic Resistance into a towering tree: "Its root is firmly fixed and its branches reach the sky." Those Mujahideen, through their jihad and resistance, bestowed honor and dignity upon Lebanon throughout the Islamic world.

In conclusion, I ask Almighty Allah, through the blessings of the prayers of our Master (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), to encompass all the fighters of the Resistance, its martyrs, wounded, emigrants, and their steadfast families with His abundant care and grace. "And We desired to show favor to those who were oppressed in the land and to make them leaders and make them the inheritors." (Al-Qasas: 5)

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei

Under your leadership, Allah willing, we shall advance on the battlefield carrying the banner of Islam, guided by the Qur'an and the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), with Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) as our guiding light, and inspired by the martyrs who preceded us on this path. We shall never feel alone on the path of guidance while accompanied by the caravans of martyrs, the wounded, mothers, fathers, wives, and all the sons and daughters of the Nation of Resistance and the Front of Jihad. We proceed under the leadership of our Secretary-General, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem (may Allah protect him), with firm hope in Allah's promise that the righteous shall inherit the earth and His religion shall prevail under the leadership of the Victorious One from the Household of Muhammad (peace be upon them). Until that promise is fulfilled, you will find from us nothing but obedience, the will for victory, and the love of martyrdom. "And victory is not except from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise."

And our final prayer is: All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Letter to Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Husseini Khamenei

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, the One who grants honor to the believers and humiliates the oppressors, who has made our lives a path of jihad and preparation, and our deaths martyrdom in His cause at the hands of the worst of His creation. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, and his pure and noble Household. May Allah hasten their blessed reappearance while granting us goodness and well-being.

Allah the Almighty says: "O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you..." (An-Nisa: 59)

Our Master, the Leader and Guardian Jurist, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

We, your sons and brothers—the Khameneists of Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon—send you this letter with hearts filled with hope and prayers that you remain in the best of health, safeguarded by Allah's mighty protection.

First, we congratulate you on the martyrdom of our father, the martyred Guardian Leader, who concluded decades of jihad and leadership, combining knowledge with action, opening the doors of giving as a distinguished jurist, Qur'anic thinker, and steadfast leader, until he was martyred like his grandfather, Imam Ali, at the hands of the "Ibn Muljams" of this era. We also extend our congratulations on the martyrdom, sacrifices, and wounds of your brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters among the fighters of this nation on the resistance front, especially the people of your beloved country, the Islamic Republic of Iran. We ask Allah to envelop the martyrs in His mercy,u grant the wounded a swift recovery, and bestow patience and solace upon their families.

We, who have long made pilgrimages to the holy city of Mashhad and drawn from the pure spring of the compassionate Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him), raise the banner of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) with the hand of jihad and preparation while confronting our enemies at point-blank range in the spirit of "Labbayk [At your Service] " and "Hayhat" [Be Away from us Humiliation]." With our other hand, we greet our dear brothers—the sons of Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him), the graduates of Imam Khomeini's school, the bearers of Imam Khamenei's legacy, and those who raise your blessed banner among the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Basij, and every honorable and noble individual who breathes the fragrance of guardianship in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In them, we see the love and sacrifice of Imam Hussein, the insight and selflessness of Abbas, and the certainty and loyalty of Salman.

Today, you carry the banner of authentic Muhammadan Islam, which the martyred Guardian Leader carried after the great Imam Khomeini. It is the same banner that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) raised in Karbala when he stood alone before the enemy's armies and declared: "By Allah, I will never surrender like the humiliated..."

Our Leader, from the heart of the battlefield where we wage our Karbala-like struggle against the tyrants of the earth, we extend to you our pledge of allegiance with full determination, convinced that in doing so we are pledging allegiance to Imam Al-Hujjah (may Allah hasten his reappearance), for you are his rightful deputy and Allah's proof upon us during the Major Occultation.

We pledge to continue steadfastly on the path of dignity, preparing and persevering. Just as we stood beside the martyred Guardian Leader, we shall stand beside you, fearing no reproach for the sake of Allah. Upon our shoulders rests the trust of the martyrs, the wounded, the prisoners, the missing, and their steadfast families, while in our hearts lives the legacy of the martyred Khamenei—strength and trust in Allah.

And to your oppressed companions who were struck by the enemy in a treacherous attack and attained martyrdom: blessed are you. You are now the honored guests of that noble master whose compassion and kindness you undoubtedly experienced many times throughout your lives. That master, who is the gateway to Allah's mercy for all people—especially the people of these lands—is now your host, and his secure presence has become your eternal abode.

O noble Master, O generous Imam, O Imam Ali Al-Ridha (peace be upon him), may Allah's finest blessings be upon you.

Today, within this blessed soil rests the torn body of one of your devoted servants and a servant of the Pure Household, after years of tireless effort, struggle, and continuous jihad. Alongside him lie members of his family whose sacrifices remind us of the martyrs of Karbala. They will remain here until the day when the Remaining Proof of Allah, Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), emerges by Allah's command like a radiant sun from behind the clouds of occultation, spreading the light of Divine Mercy across the world.

We pray that this day will come very soon. On that day, the Imam will be accompanied by shining stars from among the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous servants of Allah. We hope that our martyred leader will be among them, once again drawing scenes of sincere jihad and faithful fulfillment of the covenant made with Allah before creation. Perhaps these very companions will once again accompany him on that blessed day.

O compassionate Master, we entrust to your care our leader, who sacrificed everything he possessed in your service, together with his martyred companions, so that they may receive your grace and kindness. Just as they were blessed by your favor during their worldly lives, may they now receive it in an even more perfect and exalted manner.

Finally, we once again extend our condolences to the Remaining Proof of Allah, Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), and we pray to the Most Merciful Lord that He encompass, through his blessed supplication, the Master of Iran's Martyrs, his martyred companions, and all the martyrs.

We ask Almighty Allah to grant all the martyrs the highest ranks in Paradise, to bestow patience and abundant reward upon their families, and to grant the oppressed Iranian people a decisive and imminent victory, Allah willing.

Statement by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Al-Husseini Khamenei, on the occasion of the grand funeral procession of the martyred Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei (may Allah sanctify his pure soul) in Iraq and Iran

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Peace be upon you, O Avenger of Allah [Imam Al-Hussein] and the son of the Avenger of Allah, O the one whose blood remains unavenged. Peace be upon you, upon your grandfather, your father, your mother, your brother, and upon the infallible Imams from among your descendants.

Peace be upon the Imam whose life-giving call for uprising became the resounding continuation of the Prophetic Mission, echoing throughout the depths of history. From its legacy emerged the Islamic Revolution in Iran—a revolution that was founded upon the principles of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and built upon his banner and path.

The martyr of Iran was likewise raised upon that path. He thought as Imam Hussein taught, acted as Imam Hussein taught, struggled and resisted in the spirit of Imam Hussein, lived according to the example of Imam Hussein, and ultimately sacrificed his blood for the School of Imam Hussein, thereby attaining martyrdom.

Among the followers of Imam Hussein are men whose blood, when unjustly shed for the sake of Imam Hussein, his school, and his path, awakens the Islamic Nation, linking every age to Ashura and every land to Karbala.

Today, that same Husseini epic has revived our people and given new life to the school of the Great Imam Khomeini and the martyred Imam Khamenei. It is this living epic that echoes the cry of the oppression suffered by Imam Hussein and his eternal call, "Is there anyone who will come to my aid?"—a call that now resounds across Iran, Iraq, and many other countries, shaking falsehood to its foundations.

On this occasion, I extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the tens of millions of people whose magnificent, historic, and enemy-defying presence filled the cities and villages of Iran and Iraq, especially Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad.

Our people call for vengeance for the blood of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Throughout the years, this great nation has sacrificed its sons for the sake of Imam Hussein in the struggle against his enemies and in defense of his values. Today, it also demands vengeance for its own blood and for the blood of the followers of Imam Hussein in our time.

Now I address our martyred Imam:

O oppressed martyr... O noble and steadfast oppressed one... O righteous servant of Allah... As we bid farewell to your body with tearful eyes and broken hearts, we pledge to preserve your school, to walk steadfastly upon the straight path that you laid before us, never to fear the hardships of this road, and to bind our hearts—as you did—to the glad tidings and promises of Almighty Allah.

We also pledge to avenge your pure blood, and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars, from the disgraced criminal murderers. This vengeance is the demand of our people, and it will inevitably be fulfilled.

These criminals—whose names are fully documented from the first to the last—will carry to their graves the unfulfilled wish of dying peacefully in their beds. They must know that this matter does not depend on my existence or that of any other official. Whether we are present or absent, this promise will be fulfilled. Soon, free men and women from across the world will each carry out their share of this divine mission.

O martyred Father of the Nation, congratulations upon tasting the sweetness of martyrdom, for which you longed throughout your life. Congratulations upon being clothed in the garment of martyrdom with a body that bore the marks inherited from your mother, Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra, your grandfather Imam Hussein, and Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them all).

Message from Hezbollah Secretary-General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem to the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Dr. Mohammad Reza Qalibaf

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

His Excellency, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Dr. Mohammad Reza Qalibaf, may Allah support and protect you.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Words fail to adequately express our profound gratitude for your strong and supportive positions toward Lebanon, its people, and its Resistance, and for your efforts to compel the "Israeli" entity to immediately and permanently cease military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, in connection with ending the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the first and fundamental clause of the agreement between Iran and the United States. You transformed the only effective and genuine glimmer of hope for ending the "Israeli"-American aggression against Lebanon into a reality that proved to the world that Iran stands with truth, resistance, and the oppressed. Had others followed its path, neither the United States nor Israel would have been able to act with such arrogance, nor would the Zionist occupation still be entrenched on the land of Palestine and Jerusalem [Al-Quds].

We have always said that Iran has given Hezbollah, the Resistance, and the people of Lebanon everything while taking nothing in return. It has supported us in our choices and strengthened us to liberate our land, heal the wounds of our society, and assist our people. Today, Iran is shedding blood as it confronts the Zionist entity by striking back in response to its attack on Beirut’s southern suburb, bearing the consequences that threaten to lead to war against it and demanding tremendous sacrifices. I say it openly and proudly: Iran is an icon of dignity and honor.

On behalf of Hezbollah and its Islamic Resistance, on behalf of the loving people of Lebanon who wish us to convey their gratitude to you, and on behalf of the martyrs—foremost among them the Master of the Ummah's Martyrs, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (may Allah bless him)—as well as the wounded and the captives, I thank you in your capacity as chief negotiator, together with your direct team, including Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi. I ask that you convey our gratitude and appreciation to the Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may his shadow endure), who has surrounded us with his care and revived among us the blessings and guidance of the martyred Imam Khamenei (may Allah sanctify his secret); to the President of the Republic, Dr. Pezeshkian, a supporter of the Resistance; to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, that luminous force which changed the equation through its might; and to the army, the elites, and all official and popular institutions and groups.

I would especially like to mention the great Iranian people. We saw them in the squares and streets of Iran’s cities and heard their calls to sacrifice themselves for the sake of saving the Resistance and its people.

Thank you.
Thank you to faithful Iran.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Patience

Regarding the havoc on social media surrounding the potential deal, I only have a few things to say at the moment for the sake of clarification. Dig through your memory and you will remember that some of the same accounts who are now pretending to be more revolutionary than the Revolutionary Guards themselves were calling for borderline normalization as a pragmatic necessity and blaming Imam Khamenei for the struggles of the Resistance Axis over the past few years. Remember that the wind swings them back and forth, and the real measure is the stance of the leader, may God protect him. Judge their honesty by their adherence to wilayat al-faqih, and judge their adherence to wilayat al-faqih by their reactions. Until things clear up, the wisest approach is to be patient and await the position of the leader - not to follow 'those who call to themselves'!

📖 Arabic translation of the book "Hikayat al-Sayyid" unveiled in Baalbek, Lebanon, attended by scholars and prominent figures from the Bekaa region

🔹The Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of Martyr Imam Khamenei, in collaboration with the Association of Imam Khomeini Cultural Centers, has unveiled the Arabic translation of the book "Hikayat al-Sayyid," which contains the memoirs of Martyr Imam Khamenei about his revered father, the late Ayatollah Sayyid Javad Khamenei. The ceremony took place at the holy shrine of Sayyida Khawla (pbuh) in the city of Baalbek, Lebanon, and was attended by a number of scholars from the Bekaa region, as well as cultural and public figures from across the area.

🔹️The event commenced with a speech by the head of the Association of Imam Khomeini Cultural Centers in Lebanon, Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Nizar Sa'id. He underscored the significant convergence of Eid al-Ghadir with the anniversary of the passing of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (ra), and the anniversary of the beginning of the Leadership of Martyr Imam Khamenei (ra), noting that all of these occasions are interlinked through the concept of Wilayah (Guardianship). Subsequently, Sayyid Komeil Baqerzadeh, the representative of the Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of Martyr Imam Khamenei, elaborated on the features of the book "Hikayat al-Sayyid" and its importance in shedding light on the familial and historical dimensions that shaped the character of the martyred Leader.

🔹On his part, Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Tamer Hamzeh, the head of the division for cultural and promotional activities of Hezbollah in the Bekaa region, delivered a Quranic exposition on the concept of Wilayah, describing it as reflecting the true nature of the relationship between Hezbollah and the Wali al-Faqih (the Guardian Jurist). The ceremony concluded with a poetry recitation befitting the occasion by Dr. Ihab Hammadeh, a poet and member of the Lebanese Parliament.

🔹️It is worth noting that the book "Hikayat al-Sayyid" is the latest work published by the Arabic division of the Islamic Revolution Publications, operating under the Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of Martyr Imam Khamenei. The book presents the life, character, and conduct of Ayatollah Sayyid Javad Khamenei — the father, mentor, and teacher of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution — as recounted by Martyr Imam Khamenei himself. Throughout its pages, it reveals various dimensions of the educational and spiritual foundations that contributed to the formation of the character of Martyr Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

The heavens will bear their names.

Time will tell, that this divine victory will belong to those who act, and to those who act, alone. To the ones who responded to the call, to the ones whose Wilayah was an active creed, rather than a passive history.

My words lessened, as did my appearances. I slowly realized that many did not want to exit the bubble of comfort. Choosing to dwell in it, because otherwise, life would change dramatically, forever.

Admittedly, I attest to the hardening of my own heart as a result of my aloneness and estrangement in my campaign, and the pain of my people’s neglect to the blood which I carried and wore so loudly on my back. It became a bit of a protectiveness over our people under siege, who were neglected, who my west refused to mind.

“What do you fear? Is it the loss of comfort? Suffering for something greater? Martyrdom?

Is martyrdom scary?”

My time eventually ran out, and the time came to carry out the promise I made to the heavens months ago.

We had reached May, and true to the oath I made to the pure blood spilled in September, and to myself, to focus my energy and attention to our people in the east, our sails blew back to Lebanon. My primary focus had become to catch what I witnessed to be the Hussaini Caravan while I still could, before the divine gates closed, as every day that passed I felt the walls close in on me more and more.

I called and called for my people to embark on this ship, or to, at least build arks of their own. But none paid any mind, none but a virtuous few.

Upon reaching the land of martyrdom, there was much to be done. Gaps to be filled, effort to be given, sacrifices to be made. I rushed to join their ranks in hopes that I could compensate for the clear role that I had played in their loss and harm.

Months passed of bombardment, martyrs, funerals — the purest of blood spilled by the camp of Yazid. I would, from time to time, look over to my people in the west. Each glance would disappoint me further, and deepen my wound. Their continued neglect was a sign of their stagnation. “After all that has happened?”, I would constantly ask myself. I would see a peaceful, tame protest here and there, maybe to bury guilt I assumed.

Soon, came the ascension of February. Salman al Muhammadi, raised to the heavens. Pharaoh, finding no one to challenge him, gathered his troops, mustered his strength, and struck.

In the east, we saw movement and fire, like that of the people of Pakistan, living martyrs storming the embassy of terror, some attaining martyrdom; or the people of Iraq, who marched with the pride of “La ilaha illa llah” and did the same; or the people of Kashmir, who — under occupation — marched and stormed the streets with the thunder of honor and dignity; or the multi-million man march of the besieged and long-suffering Yemen which cannot be forgotten, a people who had more of an excuse than anyone to avoid anti-empire activity.

But still, we have yet to see Yazid feel any bit threatened by those who are within an arms reach of him.

Two years ago, I would have been shocked and mortified to see that after this wicked aggression against the heavens and the earth, the white palace still stands, and Pharoah fears not the rising of his subjects, not even in the least.

I do not feel shock anymore. I no longer call and shout. I have accepted reality. A reality which I have had no choice but to acknowledge. I no longer glance towards my people — I no longer look for smoke in the west.

I pray to be proven wrong, and to see my people break the chains of their comfort and join hands with the free people of the world — to act before it is too late. War is being waged against all that is good and the only way to participate and make a difference is by shedding the comfort and luxury that we have allowed our souls to attach to, the same comfort which has paralyzed us.

I pray that they rise and see what potential rests in their hands. Not for their people here, who have stood strong with reliance upon God and God alone, but for their own selves. For in this rising, is the key to salvation.

When all is said and done, and victory is granted as promised, history will record on its walls only the names of those who strove sincerely and acted. Those who spared no effort or sacrifice of rest to liberate us all.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

At the beginning of the Flood, I was the most motivated I have ever been in my life to get through to the Shia of the west — my “West” — which I had called home for two decades and a half.

Calling out and calling out for months, until my voice wore, I saw no change in my people, except for a virtuous few. I saw the majority dazed, to be intoxicated by the ease of their living and paralyzed by their comfort, which itself has been purposely and strategically induced upon them by those above them. A comfort which I myself enjoyed during the most formative years of my youth, until the innocent blood of my — no — our people jolted me out of my daze.

After many sleepless nights and helpless pleas to God, for the ability to visit what I believed embodied present day Karbala, to respond to the Hussaini call of "هل من ناصر ينصرنا؟" (Is there any helper which may help us?) which I heard so loud and clear, to partner our camp in their suffering and grief — as the only valuable thing I had to offer them was my self — I reached Lebanon. During the midst of the battle, I witnessed blood, wailing, and the loss of the best of us.

Amidst it all, frustration began to build and hardness began to cover my heart — towards us, the people of the mighty west who I had so much hope in, who I believed had a capless potential to turn the tables.

The crows of September came, our leader in Lebanon martyred, the 80-ton blast shaking the building we were staying in, only kilometers away. An oath was planted as a seed in his soil, watered and nourished by his pure blood.

“They’ll take to the streets, I know it. Our Ammar has been martyred. Yazid has dared target Malik al Ashtar? How foolish of him to orphan us, when thousands of us encompass his White Palace.”

I expected riots, marches, exhibits of the power that our belief in martyrdom and “Never to Humiliation!” had injected into our veins.

Fate abruptly blew our sails back to, what clearer than ever before, had revealed itself to be Yazid’s settlement. As my family and I were sailing back, I was planning all of the ways we, the Shia of the west, could hurt him. Make him pay for his foolishness and regret his audaciousness.

Then, I heard news which burned a hole in my chest — one which I carry to this very day. It was a strange burn, which estranged me and chilled my insides.

“The Mosques in the settlements have sent out word, warning one another against mentioning the martyr’s name, in fear of facing repercussions.”

Fear?

The luxury of fear?

What is your purpose as a House of God if you do not propagate the teaching of God? If you do not promote the Sha'a’ir - slogans of God? If you fear other than God?

Will you not rise for the men of God?

For the 9 months that followed, I tried to get through to my people. Telling them what I witnessed, showing them my blood stained conscience, showing them our blood stained hands — we funded this, we supported this, we allowed this. Our relative silence is what has given Pharaoh his courage.

Could they not hear the heavenly call for aid?

Could they not see the divine gates had opened, offering opportunity to prove our claims of “if only we had been with you, we would have achieved a great triumph”?

My intentions were not to blame nor to judge — after all I am them and they are me, we reside in the same glass house — but rather to spark something which I knew dwelled within them.

Yet I found it buried too deep to catch fire.

I tried to warn: “If they dare strike Ammar and we do nothing, what will we say when they find the courage to strike Salman?”

I began to wonder if danger to the Imam’s عج life would even ignite fire.

As the months passed, I found myself ostracized for my words, outcasted for my “extremity”. Too radical for the bubble of comfort and too offensive for the conscience.

A gathering wouldn’t pass without attempts to bring attention to the blood from the east dripping onto our heads. Many tired from my redundant calls to look up, and chose to brush it off as rain instead.

Before the advent of the Mahdi عج, we will be sifted. See these events as that.

Remain firm, steadfast, and carry out your duty.

Whether it be weeks, months, or years, it is only a matter of time.

Empires have risen and fallen, yet the Shia have remained.

This too, we will outlast, Insha’Allah.
